As a registered 501(c)(3), the Apogee School is governed by a nonprofit board of directors.

It’s a common misunderstanding that private school boards operate in the same way as public school boards. Because public school boards are elected by the public, the board meetings are public. Apogee is governed by a private school board that is appointed and voted in by a majority of the board members and are not expected to be public. The Apogee board is governed by laws pertaining to 501(c)(3) organizations.
The board is mainly responsible for establishing policy, fiscal responsibility, tuition, and the wellbeing of the business. Operations are mainly the responsibility of school administration.
The Head of School attends board meetings at the request of the board, but is not a voting member.
