Which is the most important ecosystem on Earth?

Our planet is rich with biodiversity.  Each ecosystem contains something remarkably unique.  Each is interconnected in complex ways that brings balance to our world.  The most important ecosystem is all of them!  It may be tempting to think that a rainforest is more important than a desert because it contains a wider variety of life.  Did you know that desert sands are important because they naturally absorb carbon dioxide from the air, and play a critical role in reducing global warming?

At the Apogee School, we believe that every person has something genuinely valuable to contribute to their community and world.
